About VA-Energy
Engineering-led. Operationally accountable.
Founded by two engineers, run by the people who built their careers on this plant.
VA-Energy is an engineering-led power generation company headquartered in Dubai, with operations in Guinea, Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire. We design, build, commission, operate and maintain diesel and HFO power plants for mining, industry and critical infrastructure across Africa, and we supply the generating sets, switchgear, fuel treatment systems and spare parts that keep them running.
Our teams work on site 24/7/365, in English and French, with permanent supervision, disciplined maintenance records and remote visibility of every generating set. VA-Energy takes single-point responsibility from fuel in to power out — accountable for the plant, not advisory.
How the company is built
VA-Energy was founded by Adrian Burke and Vitali Novoselski — the “VA” in VA-Energy — to close the gap between the equipment that arrives on a site and the operation that has to keep it running. The company operates through local legal entities in each country of operation and is presented as one brand, with head office functions, engineering standards and document control held centrally in Dubai.
Between them, the founders’ leadership team has installed and maintained more than 250 MW of generation across the region. That experience is the frame for how the company works: complex controls, protection, combustion, HFO treatment and component-level mechanical repair are core in-house capabilities rather than subcontracted packages, and commercial structures — long-term O&M contracts, generator rental and build-and-operate arrangements — are configured to the client and to the life of the project.
Leadership
Both Managing Directors are engineers
Between them they have built and commissioned more than ten power plants.
Adrian Burke — Managing Director
In power generation since 2001 and working across Africa since 2008. Adrian began on the tools as a heavy-vehicle mechanic before moving into power generation, and specialises in the design and build of complex generator control and synchronisation systems and in complete power plant delivery.
Vitali Novoselski — Managing Director
More than thirty years in heavy diesel engineering — marine engineer to Chief Engineer at sea, head of a diesel overhaul department, and twelve years commissioning, maintaining and overhauling MaK engines for the MaK dealership covering the Baltic states. He has since supervised the installation and led the powerhouse maintenance of mine diesel power plants in West Africa, and specialises in major overhauls and component-level mechanical repair.
People
Building local operating capability
Our sites are run by expatriate and national supervisors working to the same standard, and VA-Energy trains and grades national staff across mechanical, electrical, control-room and fabrication disciplines under a company-wide role and grading framework. Each trade is graded on demonstrated competence, from routine planned maintenance through to fault diagnosis and leading an engine rebuild, and supervisors are graded on their ability to run the plant — at the top of the scale, to run a site day to day without expatriate cover.
The objective is a plant that is operated to the same standard whoever is on shift, and a permanent transfer of capability to the countries we work in.

Planning a new plant? Improving an existing one? Facing a problem others have not solved? If it can be assessed remotely, we will; if it needs eyes on the plant, we will say so.
